Fourteen years ago today, a handful of brave and perhaps naïve souls left long careers enmeshed in the molasses of the big banks to start Coastal Bridge Advisors, an independent Registered Investment Advisory firm headquartered in Westport, CT. It was October 2008, and we were armed with the dream of extricating ourselves and our clients from “the mediocrity rises to the top” mentality of the management suite at many of the major banks.

We wanted to offer our great clients what we saw as a more independent and open architecture where we could invest in the latest technology, recruit the most dedicated talent we could identify, and still have access to the best offerings of nearly every major financial firm. We’ve succeeded beyond our wildest dreams and to say it has been an exciting ride would be an understatement. And best of all, we feel we are just getting started!

Since our inception, our assets under management have increased dramatically and at a much faster rate than when we were at the wire houses. We now have 27 dedicated professionals working out of our brand-new expansive CT headquarters as well as our Los Angeles offices.
